Nationally Accredited first aid training

Cynergex as an RTO (45643) is able to deliver the nationally accredited first aid units from the Health Training Package as listed below.

Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Release 1)

(HLTAID009)

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines (ARC).

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

It includes the following elements:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Perform CPR procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Review the incident

Provide first aid (Release 1)

(HLTAID011)

The course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response to a casualty in line with the first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

It includes the following elements:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Review the incident

Provide advanced first aid (Release 1)

(HLTAID014)

The course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide advanced first aid response to a casualty in line with the first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide an advanced first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

It includes the following elements:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
  • Coordinate first aid activities until arrival of medical assistance
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Review the incident

Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy (Release 2)

(HLTAID015)

  • Respond to an emergency
  • Perform resuscitation procedures
  • Deliver oxygen therapy
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Review the incident

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation and oxygen therapy in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This unit applies to persons who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation or oxygen therapy in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.

*Persons wishing to do this course must provide a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, Statement of Attainment, prior to commencing the course.

Occupational First Aid Skill set (Release 2)

(HLTSS0068)

This skill set provides a set of skills to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in a workplace environment, including the skills to provide an emergency first aid response in the event of an emergency.  The skillset has been endorsed by industry as appropriate for people who are either employed in, or intending to become employed in, nominated occupational first aider roles.

It includes the following First Aid Units:

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • HLTAID014 Provide advanced First Aid
  • HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy*
  • HLTAID016 Manage First Aid services and resources
  • * this unit has a prerequisite of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Cynergex includes the unit:

  • PUAEME008 Provide Pain Management as an elective unit for the occupational first aider role.  This unit is required for all persons who may be required to provide pain management as part of advanced first aid response in their workplace.
